Roadtrip 2022 Fall: Richland - Boise - Ely - Kanab - Sedona - Joshua Tree - Paso Robles - Calistoga - Brookings - Cannon Beach

Day 26 - Secret Slickrock

Howlin' at the door. No it's not Ella - but it could be.

Chavez Ranch.

Yet another high rent district.

Red rocks as plant stakes.

Russ calls these cucumber cacti. There's no point in trying to argue.

Crescent Moon Ranch.

The Team enters the slickrock.

There are several examples of these giant pre-Columbian skulls staring at the sky on this patch of slickrock. It is clear they are meant to be seen from space. No wonder the Black Helicopters don't like us being here - but they can't see us, thanks to our anti-FLIR spray!

Water pools in red rock pockets - seems the grass and prickly pear have found a supreme spot to thrive.

Mosquitoes jealously guard the water supply.

The Renewed Topographics, Sedona Edition #8 (I think).
